Snow what fun! ( isnt that nice and corny! )

well we decided to take porter sledding, it was his first time. We were not sure how he would feel about it, and at first he was hesitant as well. This is Cory and him at the top of the hill before the first run.
by the time they got to the bottom porter was smiling from ear to ear and saying "lets do it again!"

Porter and i were going so fast i was actually scared! i am such a wimp! lol me with both of the boys. Theo was not that amused.

Porter decided it would be fun to roll a snow ball down the hill. The snow was so wet it packed on quickly all the way down to the grass!
Cory had to help him at the end because it was so heavy. This is porter sitting on it!

cute little Theo just hung out most of the time! He was not a big fan of the cold and we had to cut our sledding short because he started to wail and wouldn't stop! i think he was mad he just had to sit there and couldn't walk around.

Mom, i am cold and bored! Can we go home yet?

Theo my walker!

Theo is so big, he is walking all over now! he loves to Carry a ball in each hand when he walks. He is still a little wobbly and drunk looking and falls down allot. but he gets right back up and keeps at it! He can turn around now and also will squat to pick things up off the floor.

His two teeth. He still hasn't gotten anymore. But that's okay, we like his little smile!

Porter really wanted to use the shovel.. he was so funny and was just shoveling the grass! The snow was so wet and heavy he could barely even push the shovel. He had a good time though, and wore himself completely out!

porter brought the camera to me and told me to take a picture of him and this. He took all the Christmas figurines and lined them up in the window and was quite proud of it! Later that day Theo went over there and threw half of them on the ground. I put them back but porter was so distraught that they were all in the wrong places now.. he spent a good 30 minutes fixing them to his liking again.

Frosty the Snowman

When we had our first big snow storm porter was so excited to get out there and play! We helped him build his first snowman which he calls frosty the snowman. He seems to think that all snowman have to be called frosty. Its really cute.

Porter talks a lot now a days and he says some of the funniest things. Thought I would write them down because I know that at least my mom will get a kick out of them!

Us eating spaghetti at the table ( i had bought the cheapo napkins from all a dollar):
Porter "mommy I am all messy! I have sauce all over me!"
Mom "use your napkin"
Porter "that napkin is too scratchy, it hurts me! I need a bath mommy, there is sauce all over me. Its on my pants and my chair and my face."

Playing with Toys:
Mom " Porter why don't you use this block?"
Porter "Actually I think I will use this one, that one is the wrong color. I need a green block."
Mom "do you want me to help you?
Porter " Hmmmm i don't think so. I can do it by myself."


I still cant believe he knows the word actually. Cracks Cory and I up!

Mom "can you reach the pedals?
Porter " mom I am bigger now! I can ride the big bike. i need this one. Lets buy it."
Mom "Maybe you can have it for Christmas if you be a good boy and ask for it."
Porter " I'm bigger than Theo, he cant have a bike. But i am bigger."

he went on and on about how "bigger" he was. I went and bought the bike later.. he will get it for Christmas.

Meal time
mom "porter its time for the prayer"
porter ignores me and starts picking at his food
mom "porter fold your arms"
Porter still ignoring me
mom " porter we need to tell heavenly father and Jesus thank you for giving us this food to eat or they will be sad"
Porter " oh yes... we don't want them to be sad." folds his arms and closes his eyes.

mom " porter its time for lunch, do you want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or grilled cheese sandwich?"
Porter " how bout' eggs and toast? I will help you" goes over to fridge takes eggs and bread out and puts them on the counter! proceeds to push chair over and gets out pan puts it on the stove. Gets spatula. I resign to eggs and toast for the millionth time...

Some of his favorite phrases " hey, wait a minute!" " did you see that?"

Happy Two Year Angelversary

Today, two years ago i was in a hospital. It was Thanksgiving day, I was not feeling particularly thankful though. In fact even though I gave birth to a beautiful little boy I didn't feel blessed. I felt cheated, I felt angry, and my heart broke looking into his still baby face and wishing and praying he would suddenly open those eyes. I never did get to gaze into his eyes. I did however hold him, bath him, rock him, and love him. And those are the most cherished memories I have.

Today I ponder on what he would be doing at age two. How my life would be different with him here. I think about if I would have Theodore, and I don't think I would. I feel like Theo just needed to come to our home, and Taylor just was needed back in heaven. I know I will see him again someday. I can hardly wait. I will look into his eyes, hold him close, and tell him how much I have missed him all these years. It will be a joyous reunion.

We decorated his grave for Christmas again like last year. Porter was really excited about the tree, wants one for our house!
My Three Boys. Theo was really attached to this balloon, he took it home and we just left the Santa one on Taylor's grave. Taylor is a good big brother and didn't mind sharing. :)

Porter loves to help me cook. Here he is scrambling some eggs, his most favorite food ever!

Driving in circles

So last month for Halloween I had this table cloth on the table. Porter was really excited when i put it up and told me it was a road! I told him that was spider webs, at which point he turned to me and exaggerated " no mom, this is a road!" Of course he said it like i was some silly person to not know this already. I decided to not argue the point any further and so until i packed this table cloth back up this is what porter did every day. We were not allowed to move any of the cars which was a bit of a problem at meal times. I was glad to finally have my table back when we hit November! for some reason he only obsessed with putting cars on there while the "road" was on it.

He would stand and evaluate the situation, then move all the cars one by one around. I think he was trying to figure out how to not have a gap between the cars, but he didn't have enough to do that. So for hours he just sat there moving the cars forward. I swear that kid has more patience that i ever will!

Theodore growing up!

Theo is getting so big! He cut his first tooth a week ago, finally! he just has the one and its on the bottom. I am lucky that he has not tried to bite me yet while nursing. I think he knows that will be the end of that relationship if he tries! He is such a joy in my life, and i love his smiles. He is getting closer to walking every day and cruises along the couch, or you if you sit on the floor! What? No mom I didn't make that mess with the paper towel!
Okay maybe I did make it, but i did a good job huh?

Look how much hair he has! I think he will just have longer hair, i love it and don't want to cut it! plus I don't think he would stay very still!
i was outside taking pictures of a spider web and turned around to find that Theo was going up the stairs! This was the first time he went up the stairs and this was at 9 1/2 months. He is a pro now, really fast. Which is good because he needed to burn some calories!! he lost some weight on his waist so he can finally wear some of the pants that his brother and cousins wore at this age! He was living in sweats for a while, he couldn't squeeze into the jeans!
