sleeping like babies

When i only had one kid sometimes i would wonder how people had all these pictures of their kids sleeping weird places. Because back when porter was an only child i always had him on a good sleep schedule with a nap every day the same time in his bed and bedtime the same everynight. Fast forward 5 years and with three kids i have found life gets crazy, schedules get messed up, and kids can fall asleep in a mere 3 seconds anywhere and in strange possitions too!
I think this is the only time all year porter has fallen asleep not in the bed or car, but it was hilarious! He was just sitting there one second and asleep the next! The reason being he has started to wake up as early as he can to play video games becuase the little boys and I usually sleep till 8:30ish so he knows he can play till i come downstairs. Sometimes he wakes up when cory leaves for work monday mornings at 6:30 and so gets up 2 hours early for him which makes one very tired little boy!

Ahhhh so still and quiet, love it!>

Theo falls asleep the most often in weird places. He is in that horrible three year old phase where if he gets a nap he stays up till midnight, but if he doesn't i have to try really hard to keep him awake from 4-8pm. If i drive anywhere during those hours there is lots of me yelling at him to keep him awake! But sometimes its just more than he can handle and i will find him somewhere in the house, the bathroom or stairs, or just sitting up in the middle of the room fast asleep. I give him a nap every two days and that seems to be helping just so you don't all think i am a horrible parent!

Theo has a knack for falling asleep in weird positions.

I don't know how you sleep with your but that high in the air, but i don't think i could!
At the grocery store.. he cried and cried the whole time i was shopping till he couldn't stay awake anymore! Cory and I both thought this one was hilarious!

i also have some pictures of him asleep in the swing at the park... but i cant seem to find them on either of our phones or the computer or camera... hmmm but you can imagine. :)

All About Arthur

Arthur loves being the baby, he gets held all the time and still loves to nurse even though he is 15 months and his mother would rather he gave it up or at least pared down to only a few times a day. He likes to build towers with the blocks, looking at books, and throwing balls (among other things) at you. He loves playing with the light sabers and will bring you one and try and have a fight with you. He even makes the sound affects! He follows the older boys around and really enjoys playing with them as long as they don't get too rough. He has a few words now such as hi, bye bye, Papi, mama, mooo, ruff ruff, tank u, choo choo, ball, football, and he signs milk. He tries to say his body parts while pointing at them but if he wasn't pointing right at his nose or ears when he says it you would have no clue what it was. His favorite songs are twinkle twinkle little star, and book of mormon stories. He does all the hand actions for them and its adorable! He just started folding his arms and mumbling quietly during prayers.

Arthur is mr adventure, never stops running even if a wall gets in his way! He ran right into the corner here, full speed!
Love this perplexed look, he is probably wondering why all the pictures because he is not aware of the goose egg on his forehead.

A very happy boy to not have clothes on! He knows how to take his pants and socks off but as of yet the shirt stays on unless i help him out. What is it about kids loving to be in the buff?

We tried to play uno as a family.. Arthur just wanted to climb on the table and mess up all the cards.

Everyone loves to climb on Papi.

As Arthur is getting older he is playing more with Theo, I hope they are the best of friends!

This kid loves to climb, and will get stuck in places like my shelves and squawk until i come from the other room to see that he needs rescuing! or course like a nice mommy i go get the camera and take pictures before i help him down...

Remembering Taylor

Four years ago today I gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy. He was perfect in every way, just still as could be. I try not to think about it or dwell on it throughout the year, but this is the day when I let myself miss him. Hard to believe its been 4 years, I still remember it all so clearly. I wish i had held him longer, he was so tiny and sweet. My only 6 pounder! When Arthur was born he looked just like Taylor, so watching him get older i imagine that is what Taylor would have looked like.
I love and miss my little Taylor, and cant wait to see him again some day!

my three cuddly tiggers

Went back to see these pictures and thought i would share. The kids grow so fast i can barely even remember porter being that small! All three boys wearing the Tigger costume.

Arthur is 14 1/2 months and the smallest ( and oldest!) of all three boys, the 12 month costume fit him perfectly!

Theo was 10 months and we had to squeeze him into it! He was about 5 pounds heavier than Arthur was!

Porter was a little too tall at 13 months, but it worked! For some reason he seemed so grown up that Halloween in my memories... maybe it was because he was the first kid, maybe because i was 8 months pregnant so i needed him to be grown up. I just didn't think of him as a baby, and Arthur is even older and I defiantly still treat him like a baby!

Halloween pics.. better late than never!

notice all the green.. gotta love temps in the high 70's at Halloween! we were all hot in our costumes.

Porter wanted a spider on his pumpkin.. i tried my best. i think i am only talented as a traditional pumpkin carver though!

Batman, Robin, and the Joker

Arthur was tiger.. third kid to wear this costume, sure got my moneys worth! And Porter decided i should be a witch this year. But not a scary witch, and i was glad about that because i didn't want to put green face paint on anyways!

every five seconds Theo had to point out the moon, he was really excited...

coolest trunk there!

Tigger just wanted to eat his tootsie roll, so stoped collecting candy 1/2 way though.

Mommy brain

When i was a kid my siblings and I would always laugh about how Mom forgot everything. She sometimes would be telling me something and midway through couldn't remember what it was anymore! Of course back then I thought she just was getting old and so not as smart as us little crazy kids, now i know better! It was all our fault really, raising a bunch of kids who suck the brain cells out of you and give you no sleep did it to her! I can totally relate.

I used to have an amazing memory. The kind where I knew my whole school schedule, work schedule, and date schedule all in my head. Now if its not on the calendar i have no recollection of it at all, in fact i have to check the calender each morning, because if i check the night before most likely i will forget by the next day. Which makes me look flaky, forgetful, and well just like my mother!! ( i love you mom, don't take offence!)

For instance one crazy morning we all slept in and were still in our pajamas with bed head and every toy dumped out on the floor. The doorbell rings. It was Theo's speech therapist. I was mortified!! I thought the appointment was the following week, nope! I am very thankful and surprised CPS didn't make a visit to my house after she left! It was THAT bad! I have been trying really hard since then to check the calender the minute i wake up ( and first check the computer so i have the right date too!)

Today I had visiting teaching. I had checked the calendar and knew the times and that it was the right day. Problem was I showed up at the 1100 appointment when i should have been at the 10:15. I felt silly, and couldn't believe that I looked at the calender said OUT LOUD okay Jolynn is first and then after is Brittany. Not even five minutes later i get in my car and drive to Brittany's house! Really, memory?

The worst ones are when you spoil food, like when i put the milk in the pantry ( it had been a long night with me up every hour with one kid or another) Or when I forgot a whole bag of groceries in the car and had to throw away pricey produce!

What are some of your Mommy brain stories? I surely am not the only one!

Theo's "or-by"

Some kids have a security blanket, other a binky or maybe a favorite stuffed animal. Theo has half a purple pool noodle.

Why is it in half? Well one day months ago Porter and Theo were fighting over who could play with it and so I cut it in half! They then decided it made really good swords and played happily with them that way ever since.

Somewhere along the way Theo got really attached to it. He has to have it in the car, at the store, when he sleeps, and we pry it out of his hands every time we go to church. He will ask us " where my or by" whenever we go anywhere ( even if we are just going up the stairs.) He actually is calling it his "sword fight" but his English skills are still a bit lacking.

Sword Fight!

So i am sitting on the couch when Theo bounds up, mutters a bunch of random gibberish sounds and hands me this little piece of straw.

I take it from his hand a bit perplexed on what he wanted me to DO with it exactly when he suddenly whips out the light sabor from his other hand and starts whacking my poor sad little "light sabor". It was not a fair battle, i must say! I had a good laugh though. Also later that night when Cory came home and was confused when Theo handed him a straw i got to laugh all over again as he attacked bewildered Cory!

As you can see, not a fair match up!

Delayed birthday pictures for my oldest and youngest boys!

I know i am late, but better than never! The older porter gets, the smaller his birthday parties are. For instance for his third birthday we had food, cake, pinata with candy and toys in it, about 40 people with adults and kids, major decorations with ballons streamers and signs covering the living room, kitchen, and outside, and presents, and a big loud birthday song. See that was the kind of birthday party i always wanted as a kid so like many adults i went all out for me not so much for him. The thing is he hated his third birthday party. So both last year and this year we let him plan and do exactly what he wanted. I told him he was the "boss" and he got to pick everything. He invited two friends from church and wanted to go miniature golfing. After that we came home and they wanted to play in his room, but he is funny about somethings and he had cleaned his room and didn't want anyone to put anything out of place so had a little melt down when they headed up there. So we came back down and decided to do the cake. He had requested a star wars cake, this exact scene from the movie. He picked out the candles him self as well as the figurines. He also told me that i had to decorate the house and surprise him for his birthday, i asked him if he knew what surprise meant and he said its when you walk in the room and its all decorated and everyone says " surprise!". So while he was sleeping Cory and I hung streamers and balloons so we could "surprise" him in the morning. He loved it! After his party which was short and sweet he wanted to play his new Lego batman video game which he did for the rest of the day basically and we let him because you only get to have a fifth birthday party once! Both Cory and I remember turning 5 so we didn't want him bringing up how we were mean to him on his birthday the rest of his life. Cory even sacrificed watching his football game so porter could play his video game and be happy! The cake. It was fun to make porters vision come to life!

He asked that no one sing to him ( he cant handle the attention and noise at the same time) So he just blew out the candles

This is the face he made when i asked if we should sing to him.

How old are you porter??
Love that boy! I cant believe its been five years since i had him! He has been such a joy to have in our family and I love having conversations with him and watching his brain work! He is my little smartie pants, who is currently interested in math. today he came up to me and told me that 10 plus 10 plus 10 plus 3 is 33. I don't know why he was even thinking about that, but he cracks me up!

AND NOW for Arthur's first birthday! poor third child gets lost in the chaos of life and didn't even get a post last month of his cake pictures! But hey, at least i did take all the pictures right? So he will know when he grows up that he was just as loved and honored on his first birthday as his brothers, in fact even more so since he has two big brothers that love him so much!
First birthday, He was my neatest baby yet and just stuck his little finger in and licked of frosting until he forced him to get into the cake a bit!

are you sure i am allowed to be eating this mom??
Enough pictures already!! I am going blind from the flash!
Im full, can i get out of here yet?
