When i was a kid my siblings and I would always laugh about how Mom forgot everything. She sometimes would be telling me something and midway through couldn't remember what it was anymore! Of course back then I thought she just was getting old and so not as smart as us little crazy kids, now i know better! It was all our fault really, raising a bunch of kids who suck the brain cells out of you and give you no sleep did it to her! I can totally relate.
I used to have an amazing memory. The kind where I knew my whole school schedule, work schedule, and date schedule all in my head. Now if its not on the calendar i have no recollection of it at all, in fact i have to check the calender each morning, because if i check the night before most likely i will forget by the next day. Which makes me look flaky, forgetful, and well just like my mother!! ( i love you mom, don't take offence!)
For instance one crazy morning we all slept in and were still in our pajamas with bed head and every toy dumped out on the floor. The doorbell rings. It was Theo's speech therapist. I was mortified!! I thought the appointment was the following week, nope! I am very thankful and surprised CPS didn't make a visit to my house after she left! It was THAT bad! I have been trying really hard since then to check the calender the minute i wake up ( and first check the computer so i have the right date too!)
Today I had visiting teaching. I had checked the calendar and knew the times and that it was the right day. Problem was I showed up at the 1100 appointment when i should have been at the 10:15. I felt silly, and couldn't believe that I looked at the calender said OUT LOUD okay Jolynn is first and then after is Brittany. Not even five minutes later i get in my car and drive to Brittany's house! Really, memory?
The worst ones are when you spoil food, like when i put the milk in the pantry ( it had been a long night with me up every hour with one kid or another) Or when I forgot a whole bag of groceries in the car and had to throw away pricey produce!
What are some of your Mommy brain stories? I surely am not the only one!

Yup. I love it when I see you mothers finally understanding.
Oh man! Yes, I laugh at when I forgot the gallon of milk in the car after going grocery shopping, only to have it rot in the trunk. Nice. Well, Camilla, at least you're still blue-eyed and hot!! :)
I put a big old roast in the microwave to though and then got a call and a play date invitation and I packed up the kids and left. I got home and went to make lunch in the microwave and there was a thawed kids of mushy roast, and then I had to figure out something else to serve my guests for dinner.
I've had so many mommy brain moments its hard to remember just one... that's it isn't it? Remembering?!? Yah, so I can relate to leaving stuff in the car - done that, or in the microwave - so done that, so many times, but my favorite was forgetting I put a kid in the bathtub. I was sitting with Allen and everything was hunkydory when I got a phone call and couldn't hear so I walked out. Then the person I was talking to asked for info I had in the basement so I ran to get it. And then i saw a quick finish up sewing project and did that. It was pretty late and all was quiet in the house so I assumed all was well. I was on the main floor and made a quick trip to the bathroom only to discover Allen was siting in the tub FREEZING because the water had gotten cold. I even had such a moment as to ask him, "Who put you in a bath?" LOL! I stil giggle when I think about it.
