Monday the 16th we closed on our house. Cory and I both had so much anxiety about this leap into huge amounts of debt that we almost didn't go through with it! We left Porter with Cory's mom and took Theo with us since he was not feeling well. We signed so many papers.. it was about 2 1/2 inches thick! Theo was being really cranky and this was the time when his fever and rash were getting worse by the hour. Finally I just signed all the papers while Cory stood and did the rocking bouncing walk with Theo, then we switched and he did the signing. I tried not to think about it too much.. but just knowing that we owe someone that much money makes me nauseous. I would have loved to just payed for a house in cash.... but we would have had to wait till we were 60 to save that kind on money up. We finished all the paperwork and then went strait across the street to urgent care for our screaming rashy baby.
Tuesday the loan funded and we got the keys. I had loaded up both our cars the night before so I went over in the day and unloaded mine. I had hoped to deep clean the Kitchen that day... All I got done was the fridge and the boys were done. The whole kitchen has hair everywhere from the previous owners. They had 2 dogs and 2 cats. It grosses me out so I am trying to get everything wiped down before I move in my things.
Wednesday I had Stanley steamer come and do the carpets. They were filthy from the pets... I also had them spray a deodorizer of them to hopefully get rid of the dog smell. I don't have pets so i don't think my house should smell like them. I also worked on the kitchen some more.. I was just finishing the upper cupboards when Theo started to scream. I turned to see Porter spraying Windex in his face! I am starting to think I will never get this place clean with those two boys...
Anyways i must run.. I still have allot of packing to do, and need to get the apartment cleaned for moving as well. We do the big move on Monday. When I can i will take pics of my new place, but don't expect that for a couple of weeks. I also need to go finish the kitchen at the new house as well as the bathrooms... I am thinking maybe I can drop porter off somewhere so I can actually be productive. ( Mom and Don I wish you were here to entertain him!) On the plus side I am not pregnant with helps alot... i was pregnant the last 5 moves.
Theo update: This morning he woke up smiling and talking to himself. So he seems to be feeling better! He still has to finish up the antibiotics but I think he is going to be just fine. Thank goodness for modern medicine! Oh and they weighed him when we went in... my little baby is not so little at 21 pounds! holy moly he is heavy!

Wish we were there to help you too. Don could have entertained Porter and I could have helped clean. This is part of the sacrifice you are making for us to be on a mission.
I'm so glad Theo is feeling some better. It is so hard when little ones are sick.
I sympathize with the paper pile and the hand cramp from signing everything and also the nausea for signing your life away. Now the trick is to enjoy it.
I'm glad that Theo is doing so much better. I hope the house comes clean well; at least they didn't smoke. Ughh, I hate the smell of smoke. THat's one thing I really miss about Utah.
awww..I'm glad Theo is better. Sorry its been so stressful on you lately. I wish I lived closer!
Remember - just take it a step at a time. You'll be all moved into your NEW HOUSE in no time at all.
Can't wait to see pictures!!
Take care!
I wish I lived closer, I would love to tak Porter! Well, I took Lance in and he has lost some weight and now weighs 15lbs and 6 oz. He is now on Pediasure. He is almost 14 months and wears 3-6 month clothes, except for shorts, they are 0-3. I wish he would get big and heavy!!!
Congrats on the house! Can't wait to see pictures. So glad Theo is feeling better!
